Thanks to the overwhelming success of the Fall 2025 session, the Alliance Fran&ccedil;aise du Maine is delighted to again offer a &ldquo;Classe pour Enfants&rdquo;, a six-week French class designed especially for young learners. Taught by Jamie Burgess, respected French teacher at the Freeport Waldorf School and valued AFDUME teacher, the class introduces children to the French language through games, stories, and songs &mdash; creating a fun and engaging environment where kids can learn their first French words or build on what they already know.Research shows that the earlier children begin studying a foreign language, the easier it is for them to absorb it. With this program, AFDUME is proud to give children in our community the gift of language &mdash; opening doors to new cultures, new ways of thinking, and lifelong learning.

We are delighted to welcome your child/children into our community and to accompany them on their language and cultural journey. This class is designed not only to help young learners build a foundation in French, but also to immerse them in the richness of the Francophone world. We look forward to sharing this experience with them. The classes run from 8:30AM to 9:30AM on Saturday mornings from January 10th to February 14th at the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Organization (92 Congress Street in Portland).
