Mentored by Hannes Schneider, he fled the Nazis, reached the U.S. (via a long route through Italy and Australia), taught at Sun Valley, served with the 10th Mountain Division (training at Camp Hale and fighting in Italy, where he was severely wounded), and later helped found Aspen Ski Corporation and put in its first chairlift. Anthony discovered the story while researching a sequel to his award-winning Mission Mt. Mangart (about the 10th Mountain Division). CJ Mueller is a longtime Breckenridge local and pioneer speed skier who became the first person to break 130 mph on skis (world record 131.74 mph at Les Arcs in 1987) and competed at the 1992 Olympics demonstration event. He’s in both the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame. Chris Anthony (Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame inductee and 10th Mountain Division Warrior Legend Hall of Fame honoree) is a former pro freeskier/Warren Miller film star who now produces these educational/fundraising documentaries through his youth foundation. This screening is part of Anthony’s ongoing tour of the film. For the latest tickets and any time details, check the Eclipse Theater page or the Zeffy link above.
