From Silver to Service: Meriden in Two World Wars explores how our city&rsquo;s factories, families, and streets were shaped by wartime service and sacrifice.&nbsp; This lecture&nbsp;explores how two global conflicts transformed the twentieth century while revealing the vital role one Connecticut community played in the war effort. Beginning with an overview of the causes, major events, and lasting impact of World War I and World War II, the lecture places Meriden&#39;s experience within the broader story of these defining conflicts. From the city&#39;s renowned silver and manufacturing industries that supplied essential wartime materials to the thousands of local men and women who served in uniform and on the home front, attendees will discover how Meriden&#39;s citizens contributed to Allied victory.
