Studio Theatre Worcester is proud to present a staged reading of Ghostlight on the Fifth. This tremendous new work by playwright Carlos Fruzzetti is in development as part of our First Stages initiative. This public-facing staged reading, directed by Jada Lawyer, is a crucial checkpoint in this play&#39;s development as it provides the playwright with insights from the audience perspective. We also invite you to join us following the reading for a brief 30min feedback session, moderated by our Producer and Dramaturg, Amanda Tafeen. SYNOPSISIt&rsquo;s midnight on the fifth of April in a rehearsal space they call Delirium. Ghostlight is a young, ambitious rock band that&rsquo;s taken residence here. Tonight, they&rsquo;re on the verge of collapse. One of them is leaving. One of them is spiraling. One can&rsquo;t play his guitar anymore. Through the night, the space oscillates back and forth between the murmurings, melodies, and memories of this haunted band as they attempt to overcome their struggles. &nbsp;When the sun rises, we&rsquo;re left to wonder what is real, what is memory, what is neither masked as both, and what&rsquo;s the difference? FIRST STAGESFirst Stages is Studio Theatre Worcester&rsquo;s artist development initiative, designed to intentionally build pathways into professional theatre for emerging artists and those returning to the field after time away. Rooted in access, mentorship, and hands-on learning, First Stages reflects our belief that strong arts organizations are built by investing in people &mdash; creatively, professionally, and structurally. Through this initiative, Studio Theatre Worcester strengthens the local theatre ecosystem by supporting artists at formative moments in their careers while modeling collaborative, values-driven processes that center growth over product.
