What happens when three amateur actors and professional alcoholics in recovery decide to put on a show? Gindependence Day is a musical revue in progress exploring America&rsquo;s historical relationship with alcohol through the lens of a self-described alcoholic. With humor, music, and a healthy dose of honesty, the piece brings the recovery community and &ldquo;normies&rdquo; together to find some common ground through truth, empathy, and a lot of laughs. Performance Dates &amp; Locations Saturday, November 7 &bull; 2&ndash;3:30 p.m. Location TBASunday, November 8 &bull; 2&ndash;3:30 p.m. Artsville This developmental staged reading is part of ALT&rsquo;s Playwrights for Change program, where new works are developed in conversation with artists and audiences. Audiences will experience approximately 30 minutes of Gindependence Day, followed by a talkback where they&rsquo;ll be invited to share their reactions as the piece continues to take shape.
