Author and theatre artist Caro Macon Fleischer&#39;s genre-bending novel, A Play About a Curse, is, at heart, a literary horror novel. The heroine, after all, propels us into action with a curse on her drama-school mentor. But the story is framed like a three-act play, complete with blocking and stage directions, all performed in the midst of equisite prose writing and expert plot building. The author will participate in a discussion of her book as part of our Great Chicago Books Club series.&nbsp; Kathleen Rooney, an extraordinary author in her own right, founded Rose Metal Press as a way to celebrate &quot;literary works that move beyond the traditional genres of poetry, fiction, and essay to find new forms of expression.&quot; Kathleen will moderate the discussion with Caro; all in attendance will be encouraged to contribute questions and comments. It&#39;s an intimate setting and a rare opportunity to dive deeply into a special piece of literature.&nbsp; Food and drinks will be available.
