Event Description:Grief read offers a gentle structure for those who want to be near grief without being asked to speak directly about their own. Together, we gather once a month to read &mdash; memoir, poetry, theory, cultural studies, essays, or any text that explores grief and loss.&nbsp; Participants are welcome to bring a book they&rsquo;re already reading, or to browse a small selection of grief-related books provided for use during the gathering (at this time, books will not be available to take home, but you&rsquo;re welcome to use the space to explore what you may want to purchase or borrow from your library later). This is not a focused discussion group where everyone reads the same text. Instead, we create quiet collective study &mdash; time set aside to think, reflect, take note, sit, and be in the company of others doing the same. We&rsquo;ll close with optional space to share a line, idea, or reflection that felt meaningful, though sharing is never required.&nbsp; Grief study may be supportive for those navigating active grief, death doulas in training, grief- and death-curious folks, or anyone who wants structured proximity to grief without the intensity of a processing group.
