Event: Grow Together in McKinney with UTD JSOM
Time: October 16, 2026, 9 am - 12 pm
Location: Monarch Gardens, 3339 Alma Rd, McKinney, TX 75070
Description: Join us as we plant 445 native plants at Monarch Gardens. The garden serves as an educational space designed to support pollinators and our local ecosystem.
The event is open to the public and volunteers can earn hours pulling weeds, spreading mulch, and planting the garden. It also offers learning opportunities about native and drought-tolerant gardening, water conservation, watershed protection, and the importance of planting natives for insects, birds and other wildlife.
Tools will be provided including wheelbarrows, clippers, hand shovels, shovels, rakes, and gloves. Bring water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.
This community event is hosted by One Earth One Chance, Blackland Prairie Master Naturalists, Keep McKinney Beautiful, UTD JSOM, and the Native Plant Society of Texas.
