This practical tradition evolved into Gyotaku, the beautiful Japanese art of fish printing. Join The Book Institute for a special hands-on workshop exploring this exquisite and expressive art form.🎨 Taught by Paula WhitemanPaula Whiteman is an artist with a passion for Asian art. Her work has been featured in exhibitions including the Pacific Design Center, and she teaches Gyotaku Fish Painting at Pasadena City College.Professionally, Paula is a physician and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine. She incorporates mindfulness and Asian art into her creative practice. 🐟 What You&#39;ll ExperienceThrough a short introduction, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants will create their own Gyotaku prints using a variety of fish replicas.All supplies are provided, including fish replicas, paper, brushes, acrylic paints, fabrics, tote and Tshirt.
