Holiday Greeting Cards 1PM - 3PM

The H.A.R.P. Museum at the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is pleased to announce two November Lunch & Learn sessions for area youth on Saturday November 14. Our first session starts at 10 AM when our guest youth will learn the art of making corn husk dolls. A great craft for decorating your home for Thanksgiving, native Americans have been making them for centuries and the art was later adopted by early European settlers. We will break for lunch, which will be provided for all attendees at noon. Our afternoon session starts at 1 PM when attendees will make all occasion or holiday themed greeting cards decorated Celtic designs. Herkimer artisan Jill Rae Venerra will be on hand to lead this program. Jill is the owner of Easels on the Gogh, a full service mobile painting studio, and Jill Rae Signs. She has a degree in Fine Arts and Art Therapy. Easels on the Gogh hosts parties for adults, children, schools, colleges, and nursing homes. Everything you will need for your creation will be supplied. With Jill, Everyone is an Artist! All supplies will be provided, all they need is their imagination and enthusiasm. There is no charge for these classes, which is being offered to children of all ethnicities aged 8-14. As each class has limited seating, advance registration is required. Call and leave a message at 315-733-4228 Ext 6 for questions or information. Lunch will be included for the students for both sessions at noon. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend any of the events (they won’t count against the cap, but will have to pay for their own lunch). Your registration helps us preserve, document, and present the Irish experience in the Mohawk Valley for the next generation.
