Our reliable and productive workhorse slicer.

This organic hybrid produces very dark green, uniform, 7–8" slicing cucumbers despite cool weather or heat. Small seed cavity. Skin is thick enough to endure harvesting and handling, but thinner than the average slicing cucumber. Remarkable vigor in both the field and greenhouse. Gynoecious and parthenocarpic.

Smooth skin and amazing flavor. Glossy spineless fruit with tiny seed cavities, crisp texture, and excellent flavor. A prolific yielder of remarkably straight, uniform fruits. Harvest at 9–11" long (or smaller, if you prefer). Stays crisp and delicious up to 14".

Pink and white Italian heirloom.

Round fruit streaked with white and violet. Plump and variably ribbed, measuring about 4–6" long by 5–7" diameter. Mild, creamy taste. This traditional Italian variety is best adapted to regions with warm nights. Expect low yields in cool areas.

Dark red leaves for mini-head or full-size production.

Thick, crisp, dark red leaves with good flavor. Similar appearance to Magenta except much darker red color, though not quite as sweet. Very slow bolting with excellent tolerance to heat and bottom rot. (6 starts per purchase)

The slowest to bolt in our summer trials. Technically a Batavian type, the light green extra-wavy leaves form dense heads at a small size and can be harvested as a mini or left to bulk up into large, heavy, full-size heads. The leaves are crisp and have excellent flavor. (6 starts per purchase)

Heat-tolerant, disease-resistant green leaf.

Delicious yellow Italian frying pepper.

The golden-yellow counterpart to lovely 'Carmen' and a refined take on the popular Corno di Toro (or "Bull's Horn") pepper class. Intoxicating sweetness any way it is prepared, but traditionally used for frying. Broad-shouldered with an attractive taper. Fruits avg. 6" long x 2-2 1/2" wide.

Early and adaptable poblano pepper.

Sturdy, upright plants produce high yields of uniform 5" smooth, mostly two-lobed fruits. Excellent fried, roasted, or in chile rellenos.

Large-fruited serrano.

An impressive size at 4 1/2-5" long, Altiplano peppers are faster to harvest than types with smaller fruits. Traditional serrano flavor and pungency. Medium-large plants.

Avg. 3–3 1/2" fruits are thin-walled and have no heat. Popular in Japan, where its thin walls make it particularly suitable for tempura. Also very good roasted, in stir-fries, or sautéed. In Asia, the fruits are always cooked green, but they may also be used red. Thinly sliced, the red, slightly sweet fruits are excellent in salads and cole slaws. The plants are large and very productive. 

Sweet banana for pickling or fresh eating.

Long, thick-walled, smooth fruits are borne on large plants. Avg. 8-9" long, the fruits are mild when yellow and moderately sweet when they ripen red.

A versatile variety, its vigorous, upright plants produce large, tender red stalks with beautiful heart-shaped leaves. Cold-hardy, heat-tolerant, and root-rot resistant, MacDonald produces early spring through summer and will remain productive for many years if well maintained. Divide annually in spring if plants become crowded. 

Our highest-yielding butternut. Both its yield and storage results were unbelievably high without compromising on flavor. It has a compact blocky shape, and its thick neck means less waste when preparing or processing and it has a good flesh to seed cavity ratio.

Uniform, medium green with light flecking.

Open plant habit with moderate spines. High yields of straight, 7–8" fruits. 

Uniform bright yellow patty pan. Fully yellow, tulip-shaped, blemish-free fruits with bright green stems. Plants are open for ease of harvest and have minimal spines. Attractive harvested while small with blossom still attached, or teacup-sized.

High yields and excellent storage.

A high-yielding acorn that keeps its integrity in storage for longer than other standard varieties. Night Shift maintains its intense, dark color and superior eating quality through the winter holidays and beyond. An ideal choice when a vining habit is preferred for your growing system, or if you find bush-type acorns lacking in flavor. The classic pasta alternative. This excellent open-pollinated strain's flesh has the best noodle-like consistency in our trials. Slightly sweet, nutty flavor. Oblong in shape with ivory skin that changes to pale yellow at maturity. An excellent pasta alternative — bake or boil, fork out the flesh, and top the "spaghetti" with your favorite sauce. Deep scarlet and delicious.

Smooth, tender flesh that is sweet, bright orange, and excellent for baking, mashing, and pies. Superior appearance and eating quality. Can be consumed right at maturity. Vigorous medium vine. Avg. weight: 4–6 lb.

Cherry Tomato. Sweet and robust.

Round, 20 gm. fruits are a pleasant purple-brown color. Regarded as one of the best-tasting tomatoes. High yielding. Try as we may, we haven't found a hybrid that can beat Black Cherry. Indeterminate.

Everything you love about the original Celebrity, now with enhanced disease resistance. Fruits avg. 7–9 oz. with more uniform shoulder ripening and better crack tolerance. Healthy plants. Vigorous determinate.

Heirloom Tomato. Unusual variety with full flavor. Famously rich flavor and texture make this a colorful favorite among heirloom enthusiasts. Medium-large, flattened globe, 8-12 oz. fruits. Color is dusky pink with dark shoulders. Multilocular interior ranges from purple to brown to green. Relatively short vines.

Slicing Tomato. Classic extra-early slicer that works great for dry farming.

A longtime early favorite, Early Girl produces heavy yields of full-flavored, 4–6 oz. tomatoes. One of the first varieties to ripen each year. Also prized for its performance as a "dry-farmed" tomato, owing to its extreme tolerance to drought and blossom end rot.

Grape Tomato. Our sweetest grape tomato.

Five Star Grape has excellent, sweet flavor and firm, meaty texture with few seeds and little juice. Healthy plants bear high yields of bright red, 15-20 gm., crack-resistant grape tomatoes. Also available in organic seed.

Great flavor, fresh or cooked.

Juliet is one of the most disease-resistant in our trials. Deep red shiny fruits avg. 2–2 1/4" x 1 3/8–1 1/2", weighing 1 1/2–2 oz. Typically 12–18 fruits per cluster. Delicious, rich tomato flavor for salads, great salsa, and fresh pasta sauce. Good crack resistance, vine storage, and shelf life. 

Beefsteak Tomato. Heirloom-quality pink slicer with a more reliable plant.

High-quality strain of this classic heirloom paste tomato.

San Marzano is considered one of the best paste tomatoes of all time, with Old World look and taste. Whole 4–6 oz. tomatoes peel easily and cook down quickly. Various strains of San Marzano exist; this strain was selected by tomato breeder Emily Rose Haga from seeds from the USDA gene bank, which is designed to preserve genetic diversity and increase food security. The strain originates from Parma, Italy, where it was developed for the 1950's canning industry. This strain has a very traditional San Marzano shape and appearance as well as a vibrant red color. Indeterminate.

Heirloom Tomato. Bicolor red-and-yellow fruit. The flat medium-to-large tomatoes with variable shoulder ribbing are shaded yellow and red. The marbled interior looks beautiful sliced. Complex, fruity flavor and smooth texture. Medium-tall vines bear 12+ oz. fruit.

Cherry Tomato. Intense fruity flavor.

Exceptionally sweet, bright tangerine-orange cherry tomatoes leave everyone begging for more. Vigorous plants start yielding early and bear right through the season. Tendency to split precludes shipping, making these an exclusively fresh-market treat. The taste can't be beat. 15–20 gm. fruits. 

Early Tuscan type with superior flavor.

Aromatic, sweet, juicy Italian melon with pronounced green sutures and a small seed cavity. Fruits are oval and avg. 4–6 lb.
