Maila ya ta fandan&ntilde;a! Join Prugr&aring;man Sinipok for a community-building workshop exploring the ways we can connect with ourselves and one another through our language. We believe that giving life to our language draws us closer to who we are as Chamoru people and to our community.&nbsp; Led by the Prugr&aring;man Sinipok team, this workshop will focus on the unique journey Chamoru people embark upon as second-language and heritage-language learners. We will discuss how our unique history has impacted our connection to language. Participants will delve into their own identities as Chamoru people, held and seen by the supportive care of the Prugr&aring;man Sinipok community.&nbsp; Creating a nurturing, supportive and safe space for heritage language learners is central to Prugr&aring;man Sinipok&rsquo;s mission. Participants can expect to learn about our values and uplift values such as &ldquo;&aacute;gofli&rsquo;e&rsquo;&rdquo; (to see each other without judgment), &ldquo;&aacute;&rsquo;umitde&rdquo; (humility and selflessness), and &ldquo;&aacute;guaiya&rdquo; (to love one another). We believe we can significantly enhance our lives by learning our language and practicing our culture in ways that highlight in&aacute;famaolek and inagofli&rsquo;e&rsquo;.&nbsp; All are welcome! Chamoru-language proficiency is not required to attend. Native speakers are also welcome to share their knowledge and experience.
