Hey 3rd, 4th and 5th graders! Are you looking for a way to Jump Start your mornings? How about a good dose of exercise to get your blood flowing and your brain awake for your school day!
Join Ms. Perkins on Monday mornings for a jump rope group from 8:10-9:10 am. Basic individual jump rope skills will be taught as well as group long rope jumping and Double Dutch. Jumpers will use po-go sticks, skip-its and jumping bands. A variety of other morning exercises will be included to build up our endurance and muscular strength.

Join us after school for a creative adventure! Each week we’ll dive into a brand-new arts and crafts project—starting with everyone’s favorite… slime! From colorful painting to fun DIY creations, your child will explore different materials, spark their imagination, and bring home a unique masterpiece every class.

Children will be introduced to various aspects of running for a “healthy body and healthy mind”. This activity will teach children proper warming up, stretching, and short to longer distance running. Each student will receive a Stony Lane running club T-shirt.

Through live animal meet & greets, activities and games, students will explore the natural world with Roger Williams Park Zoo. Our afterschool programs are planned based on the interests of the students in the group. The first day is used to introduce important ideas and expectations and get to know the students. We will create the expectations together. We will also ask the students what they would like to learn about and create a driving question board with their ideas. This will help us create lesson plans that they will be interested in for the following weeks. In addition, the students will learn how to make the animals feel safe and comfortable in their space by meeting an animal ambassador. Subsequent weeks will be planned based on the students’ interests. Activities might include things like driving whole group activity, game or circle time, Outdoor activity if an appropriate space is available, stations (stations are a time when the group can choose their own activities and use the time how they would like. These may include, but not limited to building activities, crafts, biofact station, inquiry station, coloring/ puzzles, etc. In addition, the students will meet an animal each week.

Join LEGO Club for a fun-filled building adventure! Each week students will explore a new theme and use their creativity to build with LEGO bricks. We’ll play exciting LEGO games take on building challenges, work together to bring our ideas to life. LEGO club is a great place to imagine create, and have fun with friends!
