LXCL:In 1905, Ranchers John and Dora Roberts built a new home at 700 Aylesford to allow their daughters, Docia and Mittie to attend Big Spring schools.  The home included a corner fireplace with mantel mirror and iconic columns.  Please Note: The image shown is slightly cropped due to space limitations. LXCL:The T&amp;P erected a new hotel in the 1880’s for the travelers, visiting ranchers, and families prospecting for a place to settle. John Birdwell and his wife Annabell operated the hotel until 1908. The hotel faced north towards the railroad tracks and served as a depot before one was constructed. The hotel burned down in 1909.
