Join the Berkeley County Historical Society on Sunday, September 20th at 3:00 PM at Cross General Store &amp; Ancient Grounds Coffee for a special gathering about the history of Cross, SC. Local historians Sydney Solley, Daniel Cross, and Claudette McCall will share stories and insights about the founding of the Cross community, the families who shaped it, and its place in Berkeley County history. Cross grew from a collection of early rural families and developed into a distinct community in the 19th century, taking its name from John Cross, who purchased 500 acres there in 1844. Over the generations, farms, stores, mills, churches, schools, and families helped shape the community we know today.
