HBKA’s Special Topics series is a symposium-style class series focused on hypnotic theory, advanced techniques, and the history of hypnosis. Every session starts with a more “classroom” focused hour, followed by a series of exercises designed to deepen your understanding of the techniques and/or theory being examined.
This month, HBKA founder MindTop is presenting a lecture called “Involuntariness, Compulsion, and Automaticness.” This hypnotic tactics class will focus on subject- and hypnotist-focused skills to drive a feeling of automaticness.
This class is built for intermediate and advanced hypnotists with some understanding of hypnotic theory. Beginners are welcome, but we will not be able to offer extra help to beginners.
We are seeking instructors for future Special Topics classes! Your perspectives are what makes our community great. If you’d like to submit a proposal, please email us at events@hypnokinkbayarea.com.
**What to expect during the class:**
Lecture, discussion, and three practice exercises.
No need to bring your own partner, but great if you do! Practice will happen in groups of three; everyone will be hypnotist, hypnotee, and observer for each activity. The hosts will be circulating and available to help.
**Hosts/Teachers:**
MindTop (aka Cabel, he/him), has been teaching hypnosis on and off (mostly) in the Bay Area for almost a decade now. He is attracted to con-non-con, memory play, and coercion. During his free time, you can find him playing board games, learning to cook, and exploring the city.
Resonate (she/her) was introduced to hypnokink in 2017 and immediately realized she'd been doing it her whole life. She is a hypno-switch who tends toward artistic, weird, challenging, and joyful play, with a special interest in power exchange between players of equal status.
**Cost:**
Regular price is $25 per person. No one will be turned away for lack of funds - contact us! If you’d like to offer extra support, $40 Sponsor tickets are available.
**Location:**
Mukunda Studio, 1250 Folsom St 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103
