"I Hear America Singing!" Although most of the fireworks have faded, we wanted to offer one more opportunity to celebrate America's 250th anniversary through music. Chorale and orchestra will present various snapshots of places and peoples, reminders of struggles and heritage through the songs of America. Familiar folksongs and hymns are woven into a fabric that includes American greats Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein, as well as contemporary composers Caroline Shaw, Eric Whitacre, and Jake Runestad. Come join the Chorale in singing America the Beautiful, listen to the singing of a thunderstorm in Yosemite, float down the wide Missouri, reflect on a Frost poem, and revel in a frontier square-dance. Be a part of the celebration with us!
