Dear Members of the IAFA Community: We are thrilled to host our very first auction! At the conclusion of ICFA45, Don Maitz, a longtime attendee and giant in the art world, presented us with this beautiful painting. Done "en plein air" (or, in the open air as opposed to in a studio), Don has captured a portion of the now-familiar Marriott property. The view is from the back of the pool area and looks onto the lake.  This is an oil-painting done on a linen canvas board and sealed with gloss picture varnish. It is 9" by 9" plus the framing. The organization didn't request or commission this piece. Rather, Don presented it as an opportunity to fundraise for the organization, while also helping to keep him in painting supplies. Proceeds from the auction will be split equally between the IAFA and Don. Bidding for this item will happen online through the Zeffy forum. Attendees to ICFA46 can see the painting up close and personal near the Registration Desk. This auction will close on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 5:00PM and the winner will be announced at the Banquet. The winner, if in attendance, can take the painting with them at the conference's conclusion. If the winner is not in attendance, they can work with Amanda Firestone, IAFA's Registration and Membership Coordinator, to have the painting shipped (at the winner's expense) to a requested destination.
