In the next few months, the Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra has two opportunities to represent Houston (and Texas) at two fantastic events. First, out of hundreds of high school jazz programs nationwide, JHYO was selected as one of only 20 ensembles invited to compete at Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition &amp; Festival in New York City, in late April&mdash;one of the highest honors for student jazz ensembles! Then, in June of this year, the group will be traveling to Miami for their annual summer performance and educational residency in partnership with the Frost School of Music! &nbsp;These events will afford our students multiple chances to perform and study with world class musicians while refining their performance skills.&nbsp; Of course, experiences of this magnitude require funds and we are hoping you will consider helping these talented young people with their trip to NYC and for the summer internship in Miami. &nbsp; Please join us for the first ever Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra fundraising brunch! &nbsp;&nbsp;
