Kayaking the Blue River

Event closed

Join Heartland Conservation Alliance for an exhilarating FREE kayaking adventure on the beautiful Blue River along the Blue River Parkway at the Brown Athletic Field boat ramp!

Discover hidden gems and connect with nature from a whole new perspective. No prior kayaking experience? No problem! Our friendly guides will get you comfortable on the water. Get ready for sunshine, smiles, and unforgettable moments!

Important Event Information:

Please register for your preferred time slot, and select the corresponding ticket, to guarantee kayak availability. While you may arrive before or after your chosen time, kayak availability is limited and therefore only guaranteed within your selected slot. Want to paddle in your own kayak? Feel free to bring it along!

Adult-sized life jackets will be provided. We have a limited number of toddler-sized life jackets available on a first-come, first-served basis. To guarantee your child's participation, please bring your own properly fitted life jacket. For everyone's safety, wearing a properly fitted life jacket is required to participate.

Four tandem kayaks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority for these kayaks will be given to participants with young children.

For easy access, this floating area is positioned right by the boat ramp, where you'll both start and finish. Keeping beginner kayakers and families in mind, this is designed as a non-linear experience.

With your one-hour kayaking session, you have the freedom to take breaks whenever you need them; continuous paddling isn't necessary.

Participant Qualifications:

You must:

  • Register before the event for yourself AND any legal dependents under 18 or adults under your legal guardianship. For this event, anyone:

      2. Independently, but you must provide a waiver signed by your parent or legal guardian either as a hard copy at the event or by emailing a scanned copy to the event contact beforehand.

What to Bring:

  • Sunscreen and/or bug spray as appropriate.
