Lauren also does not understand her father&#39;s devotion to the Yee Family Association, a traditional, mens-only Chinese American organization dedicated to preserving the Yee family history in San Francisco&#39;s Chinatown.&nbsp; One day, after Lauren&#39;s father goes missing, she finds herself embroiled in a surreal, magical journey that takes her through modern-day Chinatown, then back into her historical ancestry to find out where her father has gone.
