The League of Ukrainian Catholics (LUC) is a wonderful, spiritually minded community. Our membership consist of laity, clergy and sisters.  We formed in 1933, in the windy city of Chicago, during the Great Depression, between two world wars and on the heels of the ‘second wave’ of Ukrainians arriving in the USA, escaping death by hunger in Ukraine. The clergy of St. Nicholas, Chicago, IL responded by working to give them both spiritual solace and much needed support while the youth organized the Ukrainian Catholic Youth League (UCYL) our present-day League of Ukrainian Catholics (LUC). It was intended to provide religious and social activities as well as opportunities for welcoming new immigrants into the Church community.                                                        Today, more than 90 years later, we continue in the footsteps of our founders. Our mission remains the same: support those in need; provide opportunities for spiritual growth; strengthen our Love for God through our Ukrainian Catholic faith.
