This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Let’s Talk Heart 2 Heart - Oak Creek will take place on Sunday, February 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Oak Creek Performing Arts and Education Center, located at 340 E. Puetz Rd.   Let’s Talk Heart 2 Heart-Oak Creek will feature artistic performances and a youth-moderated panel discussion centered on engaging with Black History and achieving actionable insights into the state of equity and inclusion in our society and community. Performing artists will include Cherigale, the Young Dance Academy, and other gifted youth artists, showcasing their inspiring talents in music, dance, and the visual arts.  Panelists will include Dan Terrio, Dr. Zakiya Courtney, and Dr. Andrew Calhoun. Mr. Terrio is the Milwaukee County Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the first Native American director in Milwaukee County history and the highest-ranking Two-Spirit government administration official in the State of Wisconsin. He is an accomplished training expert and motivational speaker, and a member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Band of Mohican Indians in Northern Wisconsin.  Dr. Courtney is a retired educator, cultural and spiritual activist, vegan chef/owner of Vegan Soul, avid gardener, herbal apprentice, consultant and Director of the Heart 2 Heart Compassionate Widow's Culinary Arts Circle. As Executive Director of Parents for School Choice, she inspired a movement of parents advocating for voucher and charter school programs, establishing a powerful model that resonated nationwide. Dr. Calhoun is the founder of Grace Fellowship Church of Milwaukee. He co-presides over the Five Point Neighborhood Association, pioneered a mentoring program for WestCare Foundation, and contributes to the Families Moving Forward Coalition. Dr. Calhoun is an educator whose tenure includes 10 years as an academic Dean in the Wisconsin Technical College System and more than 12 years as a Lt. Commander (Chaplain) in the US Navy.
