Join us at The New York State School Library Educational Leadership Institute, a summer event dedicated to exploring how AI is reshaping school libraries and empowering librarians to guide their school communities through this evolving information ecosystem.

Over two days, participants will:

  • Gain a foundational understanding of how artificial intelligence works—its mechanics and potential

  • Explore ethical dimensions and considerations surrounding AI in education

  • Tackle key issues such as media literacy next-generation, academic integrity, and the provocative question: Is the research paper dead?

  • Investigate the impact of AI-generated books on reading, literacy, and library collections

  • Work hands-on with the PreK–12 AI Scope and Sequence developed by SLSA of NY, contributing collaboratively to a shared lesson pool aligned with its strands

  • Focus on using picture books to effectively introduce AI concepts to young learners
