Join us for the Cascadia Virtual Lions Amateur Blind/Low Vision Disc Golf Challenge 🎯&mdash;It is a community-led adaptive disc golf tournament bringing together blind and low-vision athletes, trained sighted guides, volunteers, sponsors, and local families for a day of competition, dignity, and connection.This is a competitive athletic event where blind and low-vision participants step onto the course as athletes &mdash; focused, prepared, and ready to play.Each of the 9 holes will be guided by a designated Hole Master who will:&bull; Gather the assigned player and sighted-guide teams&bull; Introduce participants and establish clear communication&bull; Describe the layout and terrain of the hole&bull; Identify any hazards or unique course features&bull; Review method of play and scoring procedures&bull; Confirm guide positioning and communication protocol&bull; Maintain pace of play and ensure safety boundaries.The event will feature: &bull; 36 blind or low-vision golfers&bull; 36 trained sighted-guides&bull; 9 Hole Masters + 9 assistant hole masters &bull; Opening ceremony and athlete recognition&bull; Safety briefing prior to shotgun start&bull; Clearly marked walking paths and spectator areas&bull; First aid and hydration stations&bull; Awards presentation and medal ceremony&bull; Custom commemorative mid-range disc for each participant&bull; Community sponsor recognition at each hole.WHY THIS MATTERS - This event demonstrates that vision loss does not eliminate competitive spirit.
