She sings the beautiful lyrical and philosophical compositions of Tagore and uses his poems in her concerts. Maitreyee has been living in the US for three decades and she strives to bring Tagore&#39;s literature to Indians and non-Indians alike. She sings Tagore&#39;s compositions in its original language, Bengali, but translates the lyrics herself. She performs in a lec-dem style by contextualizing and explaining in English. She has been performing far and wide.
