LXCL:MARI® (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument®) is a visual and intuitive process which uses symbols and colours as metaphor in the assessment of a client's current psycho-spiritual state. This approach, based on the work of Carl Jung, was created by U.S. Art Therapist Joan Kellogg during the 1970s.

This approach, based on the work of Carl Jung, was created by U.S. Art Therapist Joan Kellogg during the 1970s.Kellogg investigated the inherent power of our relationship to both symbol and colour, expressed through our connection to the collective unconscious. She understood that when we engage intuitively with this approach, we are offered a snapshot of the psyche at a particular moment in time. This understanding reveals a deep pool of wisdom available to us which can be harnessed with practical tools for integration.During a MARI session, symbols and colours are chosen intuitively and placed on a board reflecting the 13 stages of The Great Round&mdash;a cycle through various stages of life. The session is further enhanced through mandala drawing and other simple art-making possibilities.The MARI offers a therapeutic space for clients, inviting an opportunity to engage creatively with a current challenging situation, to &quot;see&quot; possible obstacles, and to &quot;listen&quot; to suggestions for practical application in daily life.MARI has a very wide diagnostic and therapeutic reach and is used effectively both individually and in groups.Presenter: Diane Brand MarisDiane has been working with the transformative power of the creative arts for over 35 years. She uses the MARI&reg; Mandala Assessment Research Instrument, BMGIM (The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music), and Colour Dialogue as tools for supporting life balance, self-discovery, and creative expression.Diane incorporates process art techniques, energy medicine practices, and natural remedies to support the alchemy of creative expression. She works internationally, offering courses and sessions both in person and online for individuals and groups of all ages.Credentials: B.Mus UCT, orchestral performer, music teacher, BMGIM Fellow (FAMI), MARI&reg; Practitioner and Trainer, Colour Dialogue Facilitator, Process Art Facilitator (ASTAR-Certified), with certifications in applied alchemy and various alternative and energy medicine modalities.
