The Colorado Ag Water Alliance (CAWA) has had irrigation scheduling projects around the state, and we are learning a lot about the obstacles, limits, and opportunities with this technology. Besides people who irrigated with groundwater, one opportunity that may make a lot of sense is for augmentation groups to use irrigation scheduling. It can take multiple years to reduce pumping (3%-10%), but those reductions might be meaningful and cost effective for augmentation groups.
