A smiling woman with curly brown hair and large hoop earrings rests her chin on her hand in the foreground, with blurred wooden shelves and decor in the background.

A Seat at Your Own Table: Sustaining the Women Who Feed, Host, and LeadYou've spent a career setting the table for everyone else. This is the hour you pull up a chair. Location: The Studio at Dragonfly Floral Farm, Healdsburg Women leaders in food, wine, and hospitality have spent careers nourishing others: feeding guests, building teams, mentoring the next generation, and giving generously to their communities. That generosity is a strength, and it carries hidden costs, among them chronic stress, burnout, and a quiet pattern of putting themselves last. This interactive workshop honors the gift of giving, invites participants to recognize their own patterns of over-functioning and self-abandonment, and explains how chronic stress shapes the brain and body. It distinguishes what is ours to change from what belongs to the systems we work within, then reframes self-care as a leadership responsibility rather than a selfish indulgence. Participants leave with practical strategies for boundaries, support, and small sustainable steps, because you can't feed anyone from an empty plate, and you can't pour from an empty cup. Led by our own Dame Lori Varsames
