Hello watercolor enthusiasts! This is an extension of the 2025 monthly watercolor series. It will take place again from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on the 2nd Monday of each month, from September 2025 to February 2026. You can pay as you go, or get a better price when you purchase all 6 sessions at once.&nbsp; We will continue with the same workshop approach. The series will begin by asking you to write down your goals. During each session participants will have the opportunity to share their independent work from the previous month, and discuss strategies and techniques to improve. You can bring your own subject matter, and/or subjects are available to work from. We will continue with WhassApp to share images and links throughout the month if desired. New activities: We will be making a natural brown pigment this fall from walnuts collected from the Spruill Conservation Farm, so you can try brown walnut ink in your work. Also, let&#39;s discuss a plein air painting session during good weather and/or a field trip/visit to see a watercolor exhibition in person.&nbsp; As previously: All levels of experience are welcome! This is a friendly, supportive group that encourages originality, experimentation, and fearlessness. The class is called &#39;watercolor,&#39; but other mediums are welcome, as well as mixing mediums.&nbsp; As previously: Materials not included. Quality watercolor paper is recommended such as 140lb cold press in a block. Individual sheets may be cheaper and can be stretched / taped onto a piece of wood. One quality round brush, 1&quot; long to begin with. Minimal colors- even one color such as sepia or Paynes grey can be enough to get started. About the instructor: Townsend (MFA Painting, BA Art History) has taught art (painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, writing about art, etc.) to all levels at the American University in Dubai, College of the Albemarle, Istanbul Technical University, the University of Delaware, and other institutions.
