LXCL:The Mountain Composting Chapter Gathering is scheduled from 2:30pm - 6:00 pm in Burnsville. Please register to let us know you can make it! The NC Composting Council (NCCC) is a (501c3) nonprofit and membership-based organization dedicated to the development, expansion, and promotion of composting across North Carolina. We are part of a growing network of people and organizations collaborating with the US Composting Council (USCC). This event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged. As a grassroots organization, donations have a significant impact on our work.

Join the North Carolina Composting Council&#39;s (NCCC) Mountain Composting Chapter (MCC) for their 4th quarter gathering on Thursday, October 15th in Burnsville, NC. The MCC meeting will begin at <a fr-original-style="" href="https://heritagetre.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Heritage Tree Recycling, LLC</a> with an update from <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.ncagr.gov/divisions/soil-water-conservation/division-districts/division-staff-directory" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">NC Division of Soil &amp; Water Conservation</a>&#39;s Regional Soil Scientist, Dalton Buchanan, on their Advancing Markets for Producers (AMP) USDA grant administered by the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD). The AMP grant has a $10.9 million for direct producer incentives with a goal of reaching 400 producers and 6,500 acres. This includes NRCS Conservation Practice Standard&nbsp;<a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/sites/default/files/2022-11/336-NHCP-CPS-Soil-Carbon-Amendment-2022.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">code 336</a> that could pay for applications of biochar and compost blends.&nbsp;NC Soil and Water is interested in connecting with NC compost manufacturers to learn about their blends and products. The group will then see a demo of Heritage Tree Recycling&#39;s Tigercat 6040 Carbonizer by owner, Blair Sheppard.
