A virtuoso performer and composer whose career spans genres brings his new band to Collage for an exciting collaboration with top musicians. Pablo has been touring internationally since 1982, and his bandmates at this show are all celebrated jazz composers and musicians in their own right. Rather than confining the music to a single genre or tradition, Pablo Calogero allows each musician’s individual history and vocabulary to shape the performances. Composition, improvisation, rhythm and texture move freely throughout the album, with the ensemble responding to one another in real time. Across its six pieces, the record reflects the exploratory spirit and collective chemistry of four musicians whose careers have consistently crossed musical boundaries.
