Constructed from a single strip of thick, brown leather, the belt features a beautiful, naturally aged patina. This vintage, artisan-crafted statement necklace features five authentic United States circulating coins retrofitted with top-mounted bail loops. The coins are strung along a classic strand of alternating elongated melon beads and round spacer beads.

This 1.75-inch pin/pendant was custom-commissioned in 2014 by the highly decorated Kiowa warrior Capt. Robert W. Poolaw, Sr. (USMC, Ret.).

Capt. Poolaw commissioned a highly limited selection of these historic replication medallions specifically to be distributed as gifts of honor to revered military veterans, tribal elders and other dignitaries—the highest traditional expression of respect and generosity in Southern Plains culture.

The Artistry: The piece was hand-forged by Bruce Caesar (Pawnee/Sac & Fox), a legendary third-generation metalsmith who was awarded the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) National Heritage Fellowship. Hand-cut from traditional German silver, the medallion features a dynamic, rotating pinwheel sunburst pattern. The center displays fine, hand-stamped traditional borders framing a luminous, iridescent cabochon of natural abalone shell.

Condition: Beautiful near-mint vintage condition with crisp structural geometry and an exquisite reflective polish, bearing only the light handling wear expected of a treasured family keepsake.
