The children will be assigned to one of the four levels (basic, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced) based on their Nepali language proficiency. </li><li>The second hour is optional and will include extra-curricular activities, like dance, madal, yoga, etc. We highly encourage parents or anyone in the community with such skills to come forward and teach the younger generation.</li></ul> Eligibility:<ul><li>Students must be at least 5 years of age before Jan 1st 2026 to get enrolled.</li><li>To get the kids enrolled, parents must have an active NCNC membership throughout the duration of school year. </li></ul>Click <a href="https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/51721a68-d18a-4b22-a8de-0632748e3b5f" target="_blank">here</a> to become a member. Registration Cost and Deadlines:Early Registration ($100 per child): Until December 1, 2025Deadline ($125 per child): Until December 30, 2025Late Registration ($150 per child): After December 30, 2025 We need to plan pathshala logistics, therefore, registration by the deadline will be greatly appreciated.   Enrollments are on a first-come-first-serve basis.<ul><li>The enrollment fee will be used to cover operational expenses like facility rental and teaching materials and is due at the time of enrollment. While you may choose to change the % to zero, we recommend donating at least 2-3% to Zeffy so that we can continue to use their platform free of charge.</li></ul>Expectations from parents/guardians<ul><li> Please join a Facebook group for the pathshala, a link will be shared after enrolling your child. Announcements and updates will be made through the Facebook group. </li><li>Parents should be willing to volunteer at the school as needed, e.g. during setup, tear-down or extra curricular activities.</li><li>Parents should drop off and pick up their children on time. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the school is scheduled to end, and pickup ONLY after the teachers have dismissed them from their class.</li><li>You will be added to Viber groups for your child's class (academics and extra-curricular activities). Please ensure that you have Viber installed and have your settings set accordingly for our teachers to add you to the groups. While our teachers will try their best to add each parents in the appropriate group, it is parents' responsibility to ensure that you are in the correct group for your child.</li><li>Children enrolled in extra-curricular activities, such as dance, and madal may perform on stage during NCNC events, such as Nepal Day, Shubhakamana Saanjh. Parents may need to pay an entry fee for ticketed events. </li><li>If you have a special needs child, please discuss with the school management how to best accommodate their needs.</li><li>Please make sure that your child is doing homework assigned by the teachers. Children learn best when they can practice Nepali at home as well. </li><li>Please be mindful that the pathshala is run entirely by volunteers. All the volunteers, including teachers, are taking time out of their schedule to come support the school.
