Grow through collaboration.Join Community Stages this fall as we create It&#39;s Christmas, Carol!, by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson, through rehearsal, imagination, and performance. Homeschool Players is a daytime performance program designed specifically for homeschool students. Rather than separating theatre lessons from rehearsals, students build skills in acting, movement, voice, storytelling, and collaboration by creating a production together. Every rehearsal becomes an opportunity to explore new ideas, solve creative challenges, and grow in confidence while experiencing the same collaborative artistic process used by professional theatre ensembles in an age-appropriate environment. Whether your child is stepping onto the stage for the first time or already loves to perform, every young artist is encouraged to learn, contribute, and grow. About the ProductionIt&#39;s Christmas, Carol! is a clever holiday musical from educational music publisher&nbsp;JW Pepper that combines lively dialogue, original catchy songs, and a fresh take on a timeless Christmas story. Designed especially for young performers, it is easy to stage, flexible in its casting, and filled with opportunities for every student to contribute in meaningful ways. We&#39;ll use this engaging script as the foundation for exploring acting, movement, storytelling, and ensemble work while creating a production that reflects the unique personalities and strengths of this year&#39;s cast. Character Workshop &amp; CastingNo audition is required to register. Our first rehearsal will include a&nbsp;Character Workshop, where students will explore the world of the play through theatre games, storytelling, movement, and creative activities while getting to know one another as an ensemble. During our second class, students will participate in a relaxed casting session designed to help each performer find a role where they can learn, contribute, and be successful. Every registered student will be cast in the production. Rehearsal Schedule Beginning the week of September 22Tuesdays&nbsp; 12:30&ndash;2:30 PMWe&#39;re currently finalizing which weekday will best serve our homeschool families. The final schedule will be announced soon, giving families plenty of time to plan for the fall semester. No classes Thanksgiving week. Because our rehearsals are performance-based, students will be actively creating, rehearsing, and refining the production throughout the semester. Every class builds toward our community performances while also developing theatre skills that extend far beyond the stage. Community PerformancesOur holiday production will be shared with families and community audiences during the first two weeks of December through performances with Community Stages&#39; community partners throughout Marion County.
