&quot;Excavations: traces beneath surface&rdquo; &nbsp;is a solo exhibition by Nida Amin of charcoal and pencil drawings exploring memory, change, and the traces left behind through making and unmaking. Created before and after a ten-year break from artmaking, these works reflect growth, loss, resilience, and renewal. Through portraits, figures, and studies from nature, the drawings record a return to making, attention, and self-understanding.Artist Bio Nida Amin is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in charcoal and pencil. Her practice explores memory, perception, and transformation through processes of layering, erasure, and intuitive mark-making. Drawing from both personal experience and material investigation, she creates works that inhabit the space between image and process, presence and absence. Amin also teaches art classes at MBAC, where her engagement with creativity and learning continues to inform her artistic practice.
