LXCL:4 hour course with field guide

General Admission

Hello NJ NICA Coaches! Welcome to another offering of the NICA On-the-bike (OTB) 101 Skills Training for coaches, led by our amazing NJICL Coach Supporters. You’ll learn the NICA-endorsed training method, which includes the progressive steps needed to teach anyone (even yourself) both basic and advanced mountain biking skills. You will also learn about experiential teaching techniques, accommodating different learning styles, and creating a positive learning environment for young riders. This is a four hour in-person class. The clinic will be held outdoors, so please bring your bike, helmet, and appropriate riding and safety gear for the weather - we recommend layers. If weather becomes a concern, we will reach out to you via email. The fee includes a NICA OTB 101 field guide for your pack. If you've got one, please put your coach plate from last year on your bike so we can learn everyone's names. Please arrive with enough time to be ready to ride by 9 a.m. Please bring some water and any snacks you may need for the four hour class.
