From St. Andrew, Jamaica, Norma Fraser cut her first record for the Island label in 1963. She has been singing since from Ska to Rocksteady to Reggae and beyond, she has produced hits like 'The First Cut Is The Deepest' and performed with Desmond Dekker, Lord Creator, Yellowman and many more! The Bandulus are helping her bring a live version of their Covid livestream with Norma to Portland. The Bandulus are the brainchild of Jeremy Peña, a musician from Austin, Texas. Formerly of Los Skarnales and the Trenchtown Texans, Peña ventured out on his own to create the traditional ska, reggae, and soul sensation that is The Bandulus. Since the band’s conception in late 2004, The Georgetown Orbits have risen to international notoriety for their soulful, modern-vintage, style of Jamaican ska and reggae music. They are joining us in Portland to celebrate the release of their new album 'Constellations.' The Skylarkers are the newest Portland band to be playing traditional Ska, Reggae, and Rocksteady with their own Pacific Northwest twist! Born from many long time veterans, the Skylarkers' electric and eclectic live performances are not be missed!
