North Star Roller Derby (NSRD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit women’s flat-track roller derby league based in Minneapolis. We bring together athletes of all backgrounds to compete in a fast-paced, full-contact sport that blends strategy, endurance, and teamwork. While roller derby has evolved from its theatrical roots, today’s game is a regulated, highly competitive sport thatfosters strength, resilience, and community. At NSRD, we believe everyone is an athlete, regardless of experience, identity, or background. Our mission is to empower skaters on and off the track by building confidence, fostering inclusivity, and growing the sport of roller derby. As members of the Women’s Flat Track Association (WFTDA), we advocate for the expansion of roller derby in Minnesota and beyond. NSRD is more than just a roller derby league, we are an active part of the Twin Cities community. We partner with local artists, musicians, small businesses, and nonprofits to create meaningful connections and support the people who make our city thrive.
