Our NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation&nbsp;class is brought to you by a team of NRA Certified Instructor volunteers. They come from many different backgrounds with a wide variety of experience, and are ready to share the benefits of that experience with you. The class goal is to provide beginning / intermediate shooters with an introduction/review of the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to own and use a semi-automatic pistol safely.&nbsp; After completion of the NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation, students will be able to:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Handle a firearm safely at all times, both on and off the range. This includes safely unloading and loading the firearm, safely shooting the firearm, and safely cleaning the firearm.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Know the fundamentals of aiming their firearm and be able to place 5 shots within a 9-inch diameter at a distance of 15 feet.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Make the necessary sight adjustments to &quot;zero&quot; their firearm.</li></ul>These classes are presented in the spirit of carrying on the 150-year tradition of teaching firearm safety and marksmanship to law-abiding citizens, the NRA way. Firearms &amp; ammo provided. You may bring your own semi-automatic firearm if you own one, and your own ammo.

We promise you a relaxed, fun and educational experience that will allow you to leave BVRPC feeling confident in your abilities and ready to take your shooting knowledge and skills to the next level.&nbsp; Important information:&nbsp;You may bring snacks or water/soda to enjoy in the classroom during instruction.&nbsp; We will be both indoors and outdoors (under cover), so please dress for the weather, rain or shine.&nbsp; For safety, wear a crew neck tee shirt, closed-toed shoes, and a baseball cap. Eye and ear protection: &nbsp;If you have it, bring it; otherwise, it will be provided. If you do not own a firearm, one will be provided for you, including ammo (at no additional charge). &nbsp;If bringing your own firearm:&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;It must be in its case, box, or range bag.&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Bring your owner&rsquo;s manual, sight adjustment tool and a cleaning kit.&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Bring your own TARGET ammo in the correct caliber: 100 rounds.&middot; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;When you arrive, bring your firearm into the clubhouse,&nbsp;but DO NOT bring any ammo into the clubhouse with you.&nbsp;&nbsp; To save check-in time &amp; to enable you to receive your NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation certificate, click on the appropriate link and register on the instructor&#39;s NRA web page before coming to class. &nbsp;Make sure you click on the correct link for the correct class date.
