Just like every other skill, your child starts their writing life wherever they are. Your child may be an avid writer who marches to their own drummer, a reluctant writer who can talk endlessly but avoids writing, or a dutiful writer whose work doesn&rsquo;t yet reflect their lively spark. Wherever they begin,&nbsp;your influence as a parent is undeniable. In this online workshop, educator and author <a fr-original-style="" href="https://sukiwessling.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; -webkit-user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Suki Wessling</a> draws on decades of experience teaching writers&mdash;from elementary school through college&mdash;to explore how parenting from the baby years onward shapes a child&rsquo;s relationship with writing. Rather than focusing on rigid programs or forced output, this session centers on creating a nurturing environment where writing develops fluently, creatively, and effectively. ✨ In this workshop, we&rsquo;ll explore:<ul data-end="1394" data-start="1159" fr-original-style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); box-sizing: inherit;"><li data-end="1219" data-start="1159" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Why writing resistance happens and what it often signals</li><li data-end="1281" data-start="1220" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">How oral language, play, and storytelling support writing</li><li data-end="1334" data-start="1282" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Ways to encourage authentic voice and confidence</li><li data-end="1394" data-start="1335" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">What strong writing really looks like at different ages</li></ul>This workshop is ideal for homeschooling parents who want writing to grow from curiosity, connection, and trust&mdash;rather than pressure.
