The Kota Flood Memorial Scholarship is offered to self-identified  LGBTQIA+ students between the ages of 16 and 21 who are entering their first year of post-secondary education and are residents of Otsego, Delaware, Chenango, Herkimer and Schoharie Counties.   This scholarship honors the memory of Kota Flood, a friend known for his humor, bravery, love of skateboarding, animals, and adventure. As an out and proud member of the queer community, Kota was a fierce advocate for justice, confronting prejudice, homophobia, and transphobia with courage and compassion. His legacy of love, courage, and laughter lives on in our hearts and remains an inspiration, urging us to stand up, speak out, and embrace life with the same fearlessness and passion that he so brilliantly exemplified.
