An immersive evening where Filipinx-style kamayan dining meets live visual art and performance, exploring how diasporic communities create new forms of belonging and resistance together. __________________________________________ WHAT: Kamayan feast (eating with hands) + live projection art + performance WHEN: Saturday, July 19 | 5:00 PM &amp; 8:00 PM seatings WHERE: Cloud &amp; Spirits, Cambridge WHO: 20 guests per seating around one communal table PRICE:&nbsp;$50-500.__________________________________________ The Experience:Join artists Lani Asunci&oacute;n and Ellie Tiglao for a one-night collaborative activation that transforms Cloud &amp; Spirits into a space of cultural reclamation. Twenty guests per seating will gather at one communal tables for kamayan&mdash;the traditional Filipino practice of eating with your hands from banana leaves. No silverware, no barriers&mdash;just rice, rich stews, grilled meats, and vegetables meant to be shared, torn apart, and savored together.The Menu:&nbsp;Ellie Tiglao (formerly of Tan&aacute;m) has crafted dishes that carry memory and resistance: seafood pancit, tahini kare kare brisket, adobo duck confit, black rice suman, and contemporary interpretations that honor both Filipinx traditions and broader diasporic experiences. Every plate holds research, intention, and the flavors of cultural resilience.The Art:As you eat, the dining room transforms around you. Lani Asunci&oacute;n&#39;s Duty-Free Paradise series comes alive through projection mapping, turning walls into living archives where colonial iconography gets deconstructed and remixed in real time. Vibrant ancestral motifs collide with archival fragments, creating a visual landscape that critiques and celebrates simultaneously.Live Performance:&nbsp;Throughout the evening, artists will weave poetry, movement, and spoken word into the experience. Come ready to abandon table manners, lean into the beautiful chaos of communal eating, and let our shared experiences become the conversation starter.
