Eat Your Heart Out

Twenty years ago, Theaterlab began with a simple, stubborn idea: to build a home for what’s new. And now it's time celebrate this monumental milestone: two decades creating beautiful art together and serving the ever-changing landscape of NYC makers and doers exploring what's next in live performance. We are having our first and only GALA to celebrate together. We can't wait to open our tiny paper house built with love, tape, strings and such big imagination and passion, to offer you a unique experience surrounded by beauty: being it, seeing it, wanting it, ingesting it. We'll honor the journey so far, the people who joined along the way, and dream together about what's to come. Performances, food, installations: Theaterlab's style will be full on - and if you love us, you'll be there piercing into the future with us. Get ready to dress for a magic night. You are a work of art! 6:30 PM : Arrival & Cocktails7:00 PM : Live Action Painting7:30 PM : Games | Interactions8:00 PM : Food, Performances, and Live Auction------------------------------------------------------------- How your ticket/donation impacts TheaterLab: Hire Full-Time Staff Great programming depends on people who can give it their full attention. Your support helps us build our capacity by hiring a full-time Program Manager and Technical Director, dedicated to strengthening our programs, expanding our Artist-in-Residence program, and growing our Women Directors Cohort Residency. Reimagining the Audience FormatTheaterlab was never meant to feel like a traditional theater. It's a lab: a space for experiments, for work that happens up close, where the audience sits in the same room as the story and there is no fourth wall between them. That intimacy is our ethos, and our space should be built to serve it. Your contribution will fund new modular, movable seating on wheeled platforms that lets us reshape the room for every production. Artists will be able to reimagine the space around their work rather than fitting their work into a fixed layout, and our team will spend far less time on each changeover. The result is a more flexible, more ambitious stage for every show and event we host, and a room that stays true to the spirit of experimental theater at its most immediate. Tickets are tax deductible.
