Spelling Bee Registration

Spelling Bee Registration is now closed. The Poplar Tree PTA has been planning for another successful spelling bee program for 2025-2026. Poplar Tree is proud to offer students an opportunity to exhibit their proficiency in the art of spelling and, just as importantly, vocabulary. The school Spelling Bee Champion will advance to the Fairfax County regional competition. The regionalwinner will go to the Scripps National Spelling Bee representing Fairfax County. Poplar Tree School Spelling Bee competition is open to students in grades 3 to 6. Registration deadline is 01/31/26.If you are interested, please register here.&nbsp; Save yourself time by joining as a PTA member now!!&nbsp; Please note that Scripps has introduced a vocabulary round starting 2021 and continues to emphasize the need to implement a minimum of one vocabulary round at school and county bees and spell-offs. Vocabulary has become an equal factor in how far state representatives advance at nationals. We feel our students must begin to learn their vocabulary and the actual dynamics of spelling (rather than just simple rote word memorization).&nbsp;School Spelling List will be available to the registered students.
