The Dignity Index is a tool designed to help shift how we interact with others in moments of disagreement or conflict. The Dignity Index is grounded in a few core beliefs: &nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Contempt causes division; dignity eases division.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">If we put a spotlight on dignity and contempt, we will use more dignity and less contempt.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">If we show people how they can help ease our divisions, they will jump on it.&nbsp;</li></ul>&ldquo;Potlucks for Pluralism&rdquo; is a partnership between Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) and MeckMIN funded by a generous grant from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations. The goal is to promote greater interreligious literacy and appreciation among college students from five local colleges and universities. Students from each school gather for a meal and guided dialogue hosted by a local congregation. The program allows students to take part in a training event focused on interfaith understanding or creating positive conversations across lines of difference.
