A true reflection of Plainfield’s community, creativity, and shared spirit, this oversized 56" x 34" plywood piece has a sun-charged glaze that softly glows after dark.

The lions outside the Art Institute are a classic Chicago icon recognized by so many. This classic 12X16 print by Abigail Perry exudes Chicago pride from the stoic lion in the foreground to the city, county, state, and national flags in the background. A true testament to Chicago pride we all feel no matter how close we live to the city proper.

This is a set of three wheel-thrown ceramic pieces. They are thrown from Black Stoneware Clay, and fired to Cone 5. The interior of the work features a dark glossy glaze, which is food safe. The exterior of the work was left unglazed to exhibit the natural, raw color of the clay. All three pieces are signed and dated on the bottom.

Selfridge holds numerous awards for excellence, and her work is held in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, England, and France. She is motivated by and particularly successful at capturing mood and atmosphere, pulling viewers into her intimate and mysterious settings and leaving them curious to know more.

This piece was inspired by tending my garden spread with weathered terracotta pots. Working the soil for the benefit of the plants and the reward of dirt under my fingernails, sweat on my brow, and the comfort of a future harvest. Macrame was designed using 100% recycled cotton cord
