The lecture presented by author and researcher Susan Futterman will feature a discussion of Pasadena artists Benjamin Brown, Frances Gearhart, and Harold Doolittle, and their role in forming the Print Makers Society of California. Through an examination of the artists who inspired them, their work, and the organization they created, the program will highlight the profound impact this group had in spreading printmaking throughout the Western United States and shaping California&rsquo;s artistic legacy. In Memory of Dr. Robert Winter (1924&ndash;2019) a pioneering architectural historian, author, and educator whose love for Southern California architecture inspired everyone around him. A professor at Occidental College for 30 years earning the title Arthur G. Coons Professor of the History of Ideas, Emeritus. he shared his knowledge of the region&rsquo;s historic and modern buildings with generations of students, always making history feel alive and relevant. Through his many books and articles, Dr. Winter documented the unique architectural heritage of Los Angeles and Pasadena, helping to preserve the stories and structures that define our communities.
