The Timeless Prophets Through the Stories of Our Time A weekend retreat exploring the stories of the five resolute prophets through the lens of the cultural epics that shape our imagination today. From superheroes and wizards to distant galaxies and mythic kingdoms, modern pop culture continues to ask ancient questions: What makes a hero? How does a world fall into corruption? What does it mean to resist tyranny, carry a sacred mission, or rebuild meaning after collapse? This retreat returns to the Qur&rsquo;anic stories of Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, Muhammad ﷺ and other prophets as the deepest archetypes of resolve, renewal, and prophetic transformation.&nbsp; Together, we will examine how revelation speaks to us through culture&mdash;not by escaping the world of stories, symbols, and imagination, but by illuminating them from within. Through reflection, discussion, and creative engagement, participants will discover how prophetic narratives offer a powerful blueprint for navigating crisis, cultivating courage, and renewing society. This is a journey with God&rsquo;s messengers through modern myths, inviting us to see our favorite stories differently&mdash;and to recognize the timeless call of prophethood in a fractured world. Following the First Gulf War in 1990, he moved with his family to Jordan and later the United States, where he completed a Master&rsquo;s degree in Artificial Intelligence at Eastern Michigan University and went on to earn a Doctorate in Islamic Mysticism from the University of Michigan. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Alongside his academic formation, Dr. Ali Hussain pursued traditional Islamic studies in Tarim, Yemen, and other centres of learning. Coming from a family of artists, he naturally gravitated toward examining the sacred underpinnings of creativity and contemporary culture, a theme that shaped much of his doctoral work. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;He is currently the founder and resident scholar at the Studio of Meaning, where he writes weekly essays and teaches classes on the life and thought of Ibn Arabi for today&#39;s world.
