This ticket is for RCSC's Friendly Tournament player tournament games registration occurring on Saturday May 17th. All players register as individual participants and are auto-drafted onto teams balanced by their skills, experience, and selected level of competition. This ticket includes swag items and a team jersey. All sales are final - no changes, edits, or refunds permitted.

What this means is every dime raised by any of our events goes directly back into the functionality of the club and every program we host, and we are so grateful for your help in this. We continue to not charge our members with club fees. We are happy to do our best and give back to our community and programs like these make our mission possible. Welcome! Our tournament is open to all skill levels - new players are encouraged! The purpose is inclusion, representation, building community, meeting players where they are at, and providing them a fun and safe environment to express themselves and play soccer! The Seattle Friendly is first and foremost an opportunity to network, build relationships, and foster community. See below for details about Friendly Tournament and our Transcend the Field program: About the Friendly Tournament:RAIN CITY SOCCER CLUB is Seattle’s first and only LGBTQ+ soccer club. Grassroots since 1996, founded in 2000, our 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer-led club organizes teams, soccer programs, social events, and charity work for the LGBTQ+ community. People of all genders, orientations, and backgrounds are welcome when they respect and advocate the club’s missions and values. This program is the longest running event in the club’s history - over 20 years in the making! TEAMS: All applicants are single player participants; teams are auto-drafted for equal skill-balanced play as possible, with diversity and networking in consideration. Players have the option to select from one of two divisions (Recreational or Competitive) during enrollment. These divisions are not a reflection on skill levels but rather on competitive rules regarding field of play, please see RULES section below for more details. REGISTRATION includes: Tournament jersey, RCSC swag, at least 2 hours of gameplay per team, free drinks and a meal at the tournament, social events across 3 days, international community gathering, snacks, entertainment, photos, and lots of fun!FORMAT &amp; LOCATION: 9 vs. 9 games, outdoor, smaller than FIFA fields, 30 minute games with no halftime, friendly play. Each team will have at least 2 hours of playing time (4 games minimum). Games on Saturday are at North SeaTac Park, 20 minutes from downtown (without traffic) with free parking!JERSEYS &amp; SWAG: Jerseys and swag are picked up at check-in on tournament day, so make sure you're early!VOLUNTEER: If you are interested in helping organize and execute the tournament, please contact us at <a href="mailto:friendlytournament@raincitysoccer.org">friendlytournament@raincitysoccer.org</a>.CARPOOLS &amp; HOUSING: Groups tend to organize carpools as the tournament approaches. North SeaTac Park is also less than 3 miles from SoundTransit Lightrail's Tukwila International Boulevard Station. If you need housing in the Seattle area in order to attend the tournament, please indicate that during your registration and we will try to accommodate.CLUB-ASSISTED REGISTRATION: The RCSC community and leadership strives to make our programs financially accessible for our members. Financial assistance is an option for members and will be announced as reminders on our social pages. For both divisions: games will be refereed, and good sportsmanship is non-negotiable. Acknowledging the rules have been provided and read is a condition and a required selection during the enrollment process.PROCEEDS: RCSC is a club of community, one that does not engage in membership dues for enrollees. As such, all proceeds from this tournament go to: sliding-scale options for disadvantaged players, general administration costs, Transcend the Field match, and next year program funds. About Transcend the Field:TRANSCEND THE FIELD is a program that RCSC has hosted for the past 3 years focused on creating inclusive spaces in queer sports and highlighting the needs of trans and gender nonconforming people in our sports spaces. For so many years these voices have been ignored and left without representation, advocation, or celebration. This program exists to highlight these voices and provide an inclusive space where people can play together and build community and find likeminded souls who share their unique experience with their beloved sport. COSTS: This event is FREE and open to all ages, skill levels, and abilities - no one will be turned away, even if it's their first time playing soccer. This match is not about showboating or showcasing, but rather inclusion, community building, and shared passion. ATTENDENCE: The match is comprised of only trans and gender non-conforming players by however people self identify. The beauty of allowing people to come as they are creates safe spaces for everyone, and helps us all challenge our own narratives and perceptions of the world and people in it. TIME &amp; LOCATION: Transcend will be held again this year the same spot historically as previous years: Montlake Playfield. Gameplay starts at 11am on Sunday May 18th, latecomers are permitted and welcome.FORMAT: Transcend is a scrimmage style game focused on combining all different levels of ability and play together community style. Dangerous and excessive play is prohibited. For problematic play two verbal warnings will be issued before people are removed from play if it continues. Players are expected to speak kindly and encouraging to all participants on the field including refs and passing/sharing or possession among all teammates is required, regardless of skill level.SWAG: RCSC will provide every indicated attendee who is registered a free 2025 RCSC Transcend the Field event shirt at check-in to commemorate their time with the program and a fun shirt to wear throughout the year and at other events.VOLUNTEER: If you are interested in helping organize and execute the program, please contact us at <a href="mailto:transcend@raincitysoccer.org">transcend@raincitysoccer.org</a>.RULES: Our Transcend program's style of play is modeled after our famous Kickabout program, which lends it's <a href="http://raincitysoccer.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Recreational-Seastars-Rules.pdf" target="_blank">Rules of Play</a> to both the Recreational division of Friendly Tournament as well as Transcend. We recommend all players read and familiarize themselves with the rules prior to the event in case of questions. Games will be lightly refereed, and good sportsmanship is non-negotiable.PROCEEDS: Transcend is a FREE program provided by the club, it's costs are covered through generous donations, private sponsors, and local/federal grants. One of the ways donations and grants are achieved is with media outreach; during the match and at end of play photos will be taken with all willing participants to capture the event. Engaging in photography is not required and should be indicated at registration where a wristband is issued to those who wish to be omitted. FRIDAY 5/16:– Meet &amp; Greet with ice breakers at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill, Seattle: 7pm-9pm– Free to exploring Cap Hill nightlife after 9pmSATURDAY 5/17:– Arrival at North SeaTac Park in SeaTac (20 min from downtown Seattle): by 9am– Games (both divisions) run concurrently from morning until 4:30pm with provided lunch break– Post Tournament Team Social on Capitol Hill, Seattle from 8pmSUNDAY 5/18:– Transcend the Field event match at Montlake Playfield Park: 11am-12:30pm– Bring your own blanket Celebration Picnic and Transcend Watch Party at Montlake Playfield Park: 11am-1pm– Kickabout (Weekly All Level Scrimmage) at Cal Anderson Park 1pm – 2:30pm
